Japan may take part in Copa America
Football team of Japan is likely to participate in the Copa America, reversing an earlier decision to withdraw from the event due to a massive earthquake and tsunami, executives said. On March 11 twins
disaster severely damaged a nuclear power plant in northern Japan, causing widespread power outages that forced the country to suspend J-League five times.
The league changed its aircraft waiting to be played during a break in July, which clashes with the championship of South America, where are the Asian champions Japan as an invited non-members, with Mexico.
"We will participate in the condition known as a number of players based overseas to minimize the impact on the J-League," Japan Football Association technical director Hiromi Hara Japanese media reported on Tuesday.
He added that the Confederation of South American football are committed to help negotiate with European clubs to release their players for the Japanese July 1-24 Copa America in Argentina.
