Aamir on 100 most influential people list


MUMBAI: It was just after the triumph of India World Cup Cricket that very important news did not get the coverage it deserved from the media.

Ironically, the man whose first film as producer, "Lagaan", took cricket to the Oscars! Yes, it's none other than the superstar of Hindi film Aamir Khan!

Aamir Khan to the list of candidates from the poll for Time Magazine 100 most influential people in the world. The actor-producer has been nominated among 204 world leaders, artists, innovators, icons and heroes affecting people from all walks of life and countries.

In fact, Aamir Khan is the only Indian actor nominated in this year's TIME 100 poll. Other Indians who were nominated this year include, Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson UPA, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, Indian-American doctor Siddhartha Mukherjee and Indian-American author, neuroscientist VS Ramachandran.

Aamir Khan is currently ranking at No. 31, and the highest ranking Indian in the list - even against the giants of U.S. President Barack Obama and Hollywood like Johnny Depp, George Clooney and Colin Firth.
