UK PM calls on Pak, India to make peace

ISLAMABAD: British Prime Minister is urging Pakistan and India to make peace, saying the "time has come" to improve relations.

David Cameron told college students Tuesday in a speech that includes the shared history of war and mistrust, but he hopes the two neighbors to go ahead with the experimental measurements to better relations.

Cameron is visiting Pakistan for the first time as prime minister.

Previously, he met his Pakistani counterpart and promised greater cooperation in the fight against extremism, a major concern of the United Kingdom because of its large Pakistani community.

During a trip to India last year Cameron unleashed a dustup with Pakistan by suggesting he has exported terrorism.

He refused to discuss this, but says it's time for a fresh start.
