ICC confirms 10 teams for next two World Cups


MUMBAI: The ICC confirmed on Sunday that the next two World Cup events will be 10 teams.

The 2015 edition of the tournament the largest 50-plus will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, and the 2019 World Cup will be played in England.

Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive, suggested that 1992 could be repliacated format in which all teams will compete in a championship round, the top four and get to the semifinals.

The World Cup has concluded recently featured 14 teams, and stage of the league was played in two groups of seven each, with the top four from each group play the quarter-finals.
