Taliban truck explosion expired 23 in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan: A team of suicide bombers shot their way into the compound of a road construction company in eastern Afghanistan and detonated a truck loaded with explosives, 23 expired people and wounding about 60, The Afghan government said Monday.

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack, the Interior Ministry occurred Sunday evening in the Barmal district of Paktika province.

The ministry said three attackers went to the door of the construction company Zahir, shot the guard and then drove a large truck that was full of explosives into the compound where they did explode.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said in a statement sent Monday that the Taliban were responsible for the suicide bombing that targeted a joint base of operations in Afghanistan and NATO.

Mokhles Afghan provincial spokesman Mohibullah Samim governor, said that all the dead and injured were workers and there were no Afghan and foreign forces on the site. He added that the explosion was so powerful that little remained of the truck.
