Bangladesh chasing the goal was all of 78. South African spinner Peterson grabbed four wickets for 12, took three wickets Tsotsobe 14 runs.
India, England and the Caribbean are also qualified for the Cricket World Cup quarter-finals after losing to Bangladesh in South Africa.
