Monaco Princess Antoinette dies at 90

PARIS: Princess Antoinette of Monaco, the elder sister of the late Prince Rainier III and a staunch defender of animal rights, has died at age 90.

The Prince's Palace said Friday that she died overnight at the Princess Grace hospital in Monaco. The palace did not cause death.

Princess Antoinette was the daughter of Princess Charlotte and Prince Peter. She participated in the cause of animal rights and was president of the League of Monaco for the protection of animals.

Prince Albert II, the son of Rainier and actress Grace Kelly, has ordered all flags in the principality to be lowered.
