LONDON (AP) - Britain will send the Typhoon and Tornado jets of air bases "in the coming hours" to prevent the forces of Muammar Gaddafi to mount air strikes against anti-government rebels in Libya, Prime Minister David Cameron said Friday.

The promise of action came after the Security Council approved a no-fly zone Thursday on Libya, the legal requirement that opens the way for military action. Cameron has ducked the issue of potential civilian victims of military intervention, saying the situation could worsen dramatically if Gaddafi forces take rebel-held town of Benghazi.

"We do not want a bloodbath in Benghazi," Cameron told MPs in the House of Commons. He added that the decision was to protect people in Libya and insisted that it was "not on the government's choice of Libya."

Britain, France and NATO were holding emergency meetings on Friday on the application of the no-fly zone, but there was no word yet from the U.S. Army on the role it can take. spokesman for the French government, Baroin would not comment on "where, how, what target, or in what form" of air strikes would take.
