Shakira confirms romance with Pique

BOGOTA: Colombian pop star Shakira said Tuesday his relationship with the Spanish footballer Gerard Pique by a message on his Twitter account.

"I present to you my sunshine ... Shak," the 34-year-old singer wrote in the message accompanying a photo of the smiling couple.

Shakira 24 years and Barcelona fullback has become the focus of intense media attention earlier this month when the tabloids published pictures of the couple together and kissing in Barcelona.

In January, Shakira announced the end of its 11 years together with Antonio de la Rua of Argentina.

Shakira popular "Waka Waka (this time for Africa)" is the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, won by Spain.
