England scores 327-8 vs Ireland



Bangalore: A half-century, Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell helped England after an impressive 327-8 against Ireland in their Group B match on Wednesday.
Trott (92), Bell (81) stitched together 167-run third wicket partnership as their milk fresh Irish bowling attack to lay the foundations for a composite total.
After winning the draw, England captain Andrew Strauss has decided to celebrate his birthday, thirty-fourth batting first on a quiet step M. Chinnaswamy stadium.
Strauss and other South-African born batsman Kevin Pietersen tore into the Irish bowling and raced to 72 in 10 overs. Strauss (34), however, looked scratchy and Pietersen (59 from 50 balls), in contrast played the aggressor in 91-Run partnership.
Juggernaut was stopped by the introduction of spin, the 18-year-old George Dockrell, who impressed in the match against Bangladesh, took Strauss in his second over.
Pietersen, who played freely, and looked in good knick-knacks for the Big Score fell three overs later off the counter Paul Stirling.
This resulted in Trott and Bell together. Bell looked to where he left on Sunday in a match against India and is related to an attractive knock studded with six fours and one six.

Mooney finished with four for 63 after picking up some late wickets.
