Oscar winner Portman condemns Dior designer Galliano

NEW YORK: Oscar actress Natalie Portman, who helps spirits clothing brands Dior, denounced his British designer John Galliano more widespread video which allegedly shows him making anti-Semitic tirade.
Portman, who won an Academy Award Sunday for Best Actress and Jewish, said that she would not be associated with Galliano, in a statement, carry New York Times.
"I am deeply shocked and disgusted video comments, John Galliano, who appeared today," said Portman. The article said in the statement were released late Monday night in Los Angeles.
"In light of this video, and as a man who is proud to be a Jew, I would not be associated with Mr. Gagliano, in any case. I hope, at least, these horrible comments remind us to think and act to combat this by still existing prejudices that are the antithesis of all that is beautiful. "
It was not clear how an agreement with Portman Dior might be affected.
Galliano, one of the leading designers in the world and is known for his dramatic show and a bright style, Dior was suspended on Friday, hours after the couple complained that he had shouted racist and anti-Semitic insults at them while out drinking in the hip Marais district of Paris.
His lawyer, Stephane Zerbib said Gagliano, who lives in Paris, denied racist or anti-Semitic remarks.
But speculation about his future intensified after the woman filed a new complaint on Saturday about a similar incident in October and the video appeared on newspaper sites around the world, including the British newspaper The Sun.
It was not clear whether the incident was depicted in a video.
Woman charged 50-year-old designer of insulting her at the same bar, where police found him on Thursday night threw stream of abuse at the couple, who complained that included a tirade of racist and anti-Semitic remarks.
"He never said such things, whether the 24-m (February) or in October," Zerbib told Reuters.

Dior refused to comment on the new complaint.
