Bopanna, Qureshi divided by Indo-Pak clash
Rohan Bopanna and India's tennis doubles partner Pakistani Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi insisted Monday on the World Cup semi-final between the two nations will not break their friendship.
Bopanna and Qureshi, who used their careers on the court also promote their stop war Start Tennis Campaign, hope that the conflict in Mohali will not spill over into their commitments during the tournament in Miami.
"It's easy to play tennis with him, but I hope we do not play a game the same day as the game of cricket," Bopanna told AFP.
"This will be an interesting match. All India stop work to watch it. I support India and hope they go to the final in Mumbai. "
Qureshi, whose friendship with Bopanna goes back 16 years, said that if they could watch the match on television in the U.S., then they should sit together and watch.
"I want to win Pakistan. They have never beaten India in a World Cup match but they have a better record overall, he said.
"Picking a favorite is not easy, but I have a feeling that Pakistan is a surprise.
"Rohan and I have been friends for 16 years. I have nothing against him, but I'll be supporting Pakistan and not his team. "
Both men insisted that the direction that the rivalry of their two nations "policy can take, tensions do not spill over into their relationship.
