Australia score 260/6 vs India
Ahmedabad: Captain Ponting guided Australia to a competitive total of 260 for six wickets, with his beautiful tone World Cup quarter-final against co-hosts of the tournament in India in Ahmedabad.
Ponting scored 104 runs under pressure after opting to bat first in the match knockout.
Ponting's 30th one-day hundred, allowed Australia to recover from a shaky 150 for 4 to 260 post on a field where the ball is turning and stopping on the batsmen.
Brad Haddin 53 and David Hussey 38 (not out) were the other main contributors to Australian sleeves.
Ashwin, Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh grabbed two wickets each for India.
