Apple's iPad 2 hits overseas stores after US sellout

Hundreds of customers lined up outside Apple stores in Australia and New Zealand on Friday for the international launch of the 2 iPad, which flew on shelves in the United States to leave the company struggling to meet demand.
Analysts expect about 1 million devices may have been sold in the first weekend of release in the U.S., but many warn that it is not clear how the supply constraints will affect the availability after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
2 iPad, a more slender and faster with two cameras for video chat, was introduced in the U.S. on March 11. But many potential buyers have expressed frustration about how difficult it was to get one of the very popular tablet computers, prompting speculation Apple application failed.
It is on sale in New Zealand at 0400 GMT. A shop in Wellington has been awarded to only 12 widgets and they are pulled in minutes.
ales kick off at 0600 GMT in Australia and then deploy to other countries including France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands and Spain.
"If it were not for the IPAD, I would not be in Australia right now," said Alex Lee, a backpacker from Canada who was the first in the queue at the Apple store in glass the central business district of Sydney. He said he diverted his trip to Singapore to attend the launch.
"It's like a habit. I also aligned on Regent Street in London for the iPhone, "added Lee, who had a folding chair and a blanket and had spent two nights waiting.
