Situation stabilising at Fukushima: operator

TOKYO: Tokyo Electric Power said Thursday the general situation stabilizes at its Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

Engineers are trying to stabilize the plant six reactor 250 km (150 miles) north of Tokyo about two weeks after an earthquake and tsunami struck the plant and devastated the north of Japan, leaving nearly 26,000 dead or missing.
