Wen Jia Bao visits MG UK


Last week, China's Premier Wen Jia Bao has visited Britain for a visit to boost trade volume of trade between the UK and China. Wen's visit saw him fly into the downtown Birmingham and has also visited Stratford upon Avon and finished his visit to London where he met with British Prime Minister David Cameron before leaving for the Germany. During the visit to China and Britain signed agreements worth about 1 billion pounds which will further benefit the two countries together. A centerpiece of Anglo-Sino ties over the last 6 years has been the purchase of SAIC and the redevelopment of the bankrupt British carmaker MG Rover, SAIC took over the MG brand in 2008 when they bought Nanjing Auto have already bought the Longbridge plant and the MG brand. Under the control of MG SAIC became one of the fastest growing brands in China and has already launched in the United Kingdom, uses SAIC's technical center in Birmingham MG to research and develop its range of new vehicles and also carries the assembling a car in the factory.
