Kristin Cavallari & Jay Cutler: It Was Love at First Sight

Kristin Cavallari has been dating Jay Cutler for less than a year when the quarterback of the Chicago Bears made his request in April - but Cavallari said the proposal felt it was time to come.

"I think we both knew from the moment we met that we wanted to marry them," the former Hills star, 24, tells PEOPLE. "It was a great location."

And it does not hurt that his family is a fan of Cutler, 27, who proposed during a romantic getaway in Mexico.

"My parents are both very happy," she said. "There was no drama, which is good."

Cavallari - who was introduced as the blonde babe typical California beach on television - is still planning his business permanently bikinis and flip flops for snow boots and once she Cutler tie the knot.

"I'm moving to Chicago," she said. "I want us to be together. I do not want to be one of those married couples where one person is on the west coast, and the other is elsewhere. I do want some normalcy in my life. I want to be a woman. "
