My father's resignation would be an insult to all Libyans: Aisha Gaddafi
The resignation of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi would be "an insult to all the Libyans, " said his daughter Aisha today, after repeated calls from world leaders for him to resign.
"To speak of the resignation of Gaddafi is a humiliation for all Libyans, " she said in a brief statement at the residence of his father Tripoli before hundreds of young supporters.
"You want to kill my father, pretending to protect civilians, " she said, referring to raids in the West. "Where are these civilians? Are they machine guns, RPGs, hand grenades?"
Aisha Gaddafi is a law professor who was a member of the defense team executed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein following his ouster by US-led forces in 2003.
Britain, France and the United States said yesterday that the future, including Gaddafi's Libya was "unthinkable" and would be a "betrayal unacceptable" by the rest of the world.
