LONDON: A future Libyan Moammar Gadhafi, including is "unthinkable" and constitutes an "unconscionable betrayal" by the rest of the world, the leaders of Britain, France and the United States, said Thursday.

British Prime Minister David Cameron, France, President Nicolas Sarkozy and U.S. President Barack Obama has promised that they would "not rest until the United Nations ... resolutions have been implemented "in a joint article published in several international journals.

"It is unthinkable that someone tried to kill his own people can play a role in their future government," the article appeared in the London Times, the Washington Post and the French daily Le Figaro, has continued.

"The brave citizens of those cities that have taken place against the forces that have been mercilessly targeting would face a terrible vengeance if the world has accepted such an arrangement. It would be an unacceptable betrayal", the leaders argued.

The publication of the article emphasized the U.S. commitment to the UN-mandated operation against the forces of Gaddafi, the easing of tensions between former members of the Western alliance.

The three leaders pledged that NATO and its coalition partners would "maintain their operations so that civilians are protected" as long as Gaddafi was in power.
