Bollywood actor Navin Nischol dies
MUMBAI: Noted Bollywood actor Navin Nischol died Saturday at a massive heart attack.
The actor of 65 years went to Pune with actor-director Randhir Kapoor in a car this morning, when he suffered a cardiac arrest. Mr. Nischol was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The funeral took place this evening in the presence of family members and friends of the film industry. The daughter of actor Natasha's mother and brother were present Kamla Praveen.
Filmmaker Manmohan Shetty, Govind Nihalani and director Romesh Sharma too were present, among others.
A product of Film and Television Institute of India, Mr. Nischol made a successful debut with "Sawan Bhadon 'in 1970 and has starred in several movies like" Victoria No. 203 "," Dhundi', 'Chhalia' 'Parwana', 'Buddha Mil Gaya, and later as a character actor for' The Burning Train "and" Major Saab, among others.
In the early 90s he made a successful transition to the small screen with the popular sitcom "Bhai Dekha Dekha"
He was last seen in 'Khosla ka Ghosla "movies (2006) and Break ke Baad (2010).
His wife, Geetanjali, committed suicide in 2006.
Several Bollywood personalities mourned the death of the actor.
"Very sad to hear of the death of Mr. Navin Nischol ... May his soul rest in peace. We will miss him," said Abhishek Bachchan on Twitter.
