Fabregas: I am happy at Arsenal


Spain won the World Cup Fabregas, 24, has again been linked with a return £ 35 million to its sides hometown of Barcelona.

And the future of his compatriot Samir Nasri Arsenal, Andrey Arshavin and Gael Clichy in doubt, Wenger is in danger of seeing his team ripped this summer.

But the skipper Fabregas says he has no intention of ending his stay at the Emirates. The midfielder said: "I am an Arsenal player.

"I'm not going to step forward and say I want to join Barca. After eight years at Arsenal, I will not be detrimental to the club. It's not my way of being.

"I was very happy for eight years and I am very happy."

Asked about recent speculation linking him with a move back to Barca, he added: "I do not think about football right now, about my vacation.

"There have been no decisions. The truth is that it does not always depend on the player and for the moment I do not know.

"Arsene Wenger is the boss, who makes the decisions. You should ask him. I was hurt at the end of the season and I have not seen for about six weeks.

"I'm very happy where I am. Anything else would be speculation is wrong. "
