Osama Bin Laden dead: White House backtracks on how bin Laden died

The White House acknowledged last night that his first account of how Osama bin Laden died at the hands of U.S. forces had been riddled with errors.

Allegations that the head of al-Qaeda had died during firing an automatic weapon at commandos were withdrawn, the spokesman of President Barack Obama admitting "that he was unarmed." A dramatic description of bin Laden, using his wife as a "human shield" and forcing her to sacrifice her life has also proven to be false. The woman was still alive and has been detained several terrorists children.

In an embarrassing climbdown, press secretary of Barack Obama, Jay Carney, admitted that the previous version of events - which comes mainly from the Chief Advisor of the United States against terrorism, John Brennan - had been made " hastily. "

The reversal left the U.S. Open to charges of cover-up and prompted calls for video footage of the raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan, and body images of bin Laden being released at the end of conspiracy theories .

However, the White House has suggested that photographs of bin Laden's body was too "ugly" to be made public because they could be "inflammatory."

Relations between the U.S. and Pakistan, already strained by the fact that Pakistan was not informed in advance about the raid, were put under renewed pressure by conflicting statements from Islamabad.
