Syrian authorities torture detained protesters: HRW
NEW YORK: Human Rights Watch (HRW), a global human rights leader said Syrian security and intelligence agencies have arrested and tortured hundreds of protesters from the anti-regime protests engulfed Syria last month.
HRW called on Syrian authorities on Friday to immediately cease the use of torture and release all protesters, activists and journalists in custody.
The New York-based HRW said hundreds have been arbitrarily arrested and subjected to torture and ill-treatment. "He did not provide an exact figure.
