Sammy Hagar Still 'Angry' Over Van Halen Split

Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar is still confused and "angry" about his departure from the group and believes they could achieve great things if he had stayed as a singer.

Hagar parted with the hit-makers jump in 1996 after 11 years as a singer, claiming he was fired after a bust up with the founder and guitarist Eddie Van Halen.

He admits he is still furious about the incident, and he is puzzled as to why he is no longer with the group, as his work rate has dropped since he left.

Hagar said Dr. Drew, "I do not really know what (Eddie) problem is ... The end was painful ... Nobody likes that ... I was p ** sed off. I let the other way. I was angry, and I still take it with me, like you said. I feel it. I go, "Why these people do this?

"Look, they throw me out of the band and they did nothing since! Eighteen years later (sic). It's like, 'Why did you do that? We were the largest group in the world, everything was fantastic, and it's a shame to see that get lost. "
