Manny Ramirez Quits Baseball

Manny Ramirez has retired from Major League Baseball because of "a problem" with drugs, the league said Friday. In a statement, MLB said it had "recently notified Manny Ramirez of a problem under the Prevention of Major League Baseball joint drug and treatment program." Rather than "continue the process under the program, " Ramirez has opted for retirement, the statement read. The New York Times, Ramirez tested postive for steroid abuse, an offense for which he suffered a suspension of 100 games. So far this season, he batted 1 for 17 for Tampa Bay.
