A Dallas County jury is scheduled to hear testimony this morning in the trial of one of three men accused of kidnapping and rape of 2009 Southern Methodist University student exchange.

Alfonso Armendariz Zuniga (right), 29, faces charges that he was one of three men who kidnapped the wife of 20 years, out of a street Old East Dallas at gunpoint, has raped and abandoned her near Fair Park on the morning of December 5, 2009.

Arturo Arevalo, 29, was sentenced in December and sentenced to life imprisonment. Luis Zuniga, 27, pleaded guilty and has not yet been sentenced.

The victim, now a junior at Southern Methodist University, was called to testify later this week.

State District Judge Teresa Hawthorne presides over the case. If convicted, Zuniga faces life in prison.
