Mirza caught in Indo-Pak 'war' with husband
NEW DELHI: A mini-simmering battle between loyalty couple star Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik in India taking on Pakistan in a clash of high voltage World Cup semi-final next week.
Mirza, India's leading player in women's tennis, will be rooting for his country, despite his marriage to former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik.
"I support India and Pakistan Shoaib support as usual! The war is over," Mirza wrote on her Twitter account from Miami where she participated in a WTA event.
India booked a last four World Cup berth against their rivals after beating defending champions Australia by five wickets in the quarterfinal in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
Pakistan has made the semi-finals with a bullied 10-wicket on the West Indies yesterday.
Mirza, 24, married Malik in Hyderabad in April last year amid a lot of hype around the love-struck sports stars border.
Mirza said she would have liked to follow the action in the semifinals in Mohali on Wednesday, but his professional commitments.

Malik Mirza and sporting marriage is unprecedented in the eternal rivalry between the nations of South Asia, and some right-wing Hindu groups in India had denounced the union, accusing him of betraying his country Mirza.
