France: Libyans might face international justice

PARIS: France said Libya's regime may have to face international justice for his brutal suppression of demonstrators.

France seeks European Union sanctions against Muammar Gaddafi's regime. French Foreign Ministry said the fierce repression "may constitute crimes against humanity."

The Ministry said Thursday in a statement that "all options should be explored, including bringing the case before the international justice system."

French Defense Minister Alain Juppe said that it is also worth considering the creation of a no-fly zone over Libya. But he says the possibility of foreign military intervention is not currently on the table.
