KANDAHAR: Six members of the Afghan security services expired in a Taliban attack on a police station near the southern city of Kandahar, officials said Thursday.
"Insurgents blew up an ambulance packed with explosives expired six members of the national security forces and 10 wounded, " the governor's office in Kandahar said.
A witness at the scene of gunfire and explosions had fallen quiet, but it was not immediately clear if the fight was over.
A spokesman for the U.S. command International Security Assistance Force had earlier said three Afghan soldiers and security forces were expired.
