Report: iPhone 5 and iPad 3 arriving in October

Could we have both a new iPhone and iPad this year? A new report says suppliers are preparing to help Apple produce millions of times for a version in October.

Citing industry sources the components, DigiTimes says a number of Taiwan-based companies that supply parts for Apple's gadgets have "started to prepare the material" for both IOS devices, with production expected to begin in September.

DigiTimes is scarce on details iPad 3, also note that Apple is going with a version that is "even thinner and lighter" and sports 250 pixels per inch (ppi) display. That would put it lower than the iPhone 4 Retina Display said, sitting at 326ppi.

The difference 50ppi could go against the original claims Apple CEO Steve Jobs during the introduction of the iPhone 4 at WWDC last year and then he put the "magic number" to about 300 ppi. Even so, it is nearly double the number of pixel density iPad existing model, which could benefit the clarity of text and photo.

Apple is working on a follow-up 2 IPAD is not really a surprise. A similar report from DigiTimes said earlier this month Apple was in the process of selecting pieces that enter. However, Apple introduced a third model iPad within eight months of its debut the latest version would be very unusual. Even the iPod, which was one of the gadgets most frequently updated Apple has long been an annual cycle that can vary from a few weeks to a month.

With three bites iPad, DigiTimes put the kibosh on rumors that Apple is scraping and two models of the iPhone. This rumor has been around for years kicks, but it has become higher profile after many reports of Apple updates iPhone incrementally releasing four existing model.

This week marked the fourth anniversary of the original Apple iPhone will go on sale. 4 The iPhone, which remains the most recent model, sold more than a year ago June 24, 2010.
