Ryan Giggs named in Commons as footballer who had injunction preventing details of his affair with Imogen Thomas
The footballer in the center of the gagging order on her affair with Big Brother star Imogen Thomas has been named today in the House of Commons as Ryan Giggs.
Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming used right at a parliamentary debate on behalf of the candidate to Manchester United.
He said: "With nearly 75,000 people who named Ryan Giggs on Twitter, it is clearly not viable to imprison all.
Naming Giggs, who yesterday became the renowned player most Premier League festooned with 12 titles to his credit, Mr Hemming also it would be "impossible" to imprison everyone on the site that had already tweeted his identity.
President John Bercow immediately jumped out of his seat and reprimanded Mr Hemming in an attempt to try to protect the identity of the Manchester United player.
In an unexpected afternoon in Parliament, Mr Hemming named the star just minutes after the High Court refused to lift the ban on naming Giggs.
