It is now just a day away from what is proclaimed Camping DOOMSDAY. Because of this hype, another theory has been extremely popular apolocalypse lightly shaded: The Mayan Calendar 2012 end of the world.

The Mayan civilization was very advanced in math, engineering and astronomy, and also had an incredible understanding of time and space.
They used different calendars were used to track time in linear progressions within cycles.
The "Great Cycle" of "Long Count" calendar equates to 5,125.36 years. The current great cycle should be completed at the winter solstice of 2012, December 21. It was interpreted that date, the Great Cycle ends at the end of time, so that the Earth must end as well.
Opinions differ on what that really means the end date.
Some believe that catastrophic events will take place in December 2012 with the ultimate destruction held December 21, 2012.
Others interpret this world will not end, but mankind will enter a new era of physical and mental changes.
