My father's death was criminal and I may sue the U.S.: Bin Laden's son
son of Osama bin Laden denounced the killing of Al-Qaeda chief as "criminal" and said it reserves the right to take legal action against America.
The statement apparently made by Omar bin Laden appeared on an online monitoring service.
Omar, who is bin Laden, the eldest son of the fourth, said he and other children of the head of Al Qaeda are reserving the right to take legal action in the United States and abroad " determine the true fate of our late father, the SITE Intelligence Group said.
It also marked the funeral of his father at sea as a "humiliation" for his family.
There was no independent confirmation of the authenticity of the letter. It was published on the website of Islamist ideologue Abu Walid al-Masri.
Several experts said the militant propaganda that the text seemed genuine.
The news came as it emerged the CIA will select some legislators to see the controversial photos of Osama bin Laden dead.
The CIA will allow the group to see the photos if they travel to the headquarters of the agency.
The move came as the White House faces new pressure to release the gruesome images, following a series of applications filed under the Freedom of Information Act.
News organizations, public interest groups and even politicians have all filed formal requests with government agencies to see pictures of bin Laden's body after he was shot dead last week in the confines of Abbottabad in Pakistan.
Obama has so far strongly resisted calls to release the pictures as "proof" of the terrorist leader's death at the hands of American special forces.
