Wozniacki beats Jankovic to reach final

CHARLESTON, South Carolina: World number one Caroline Wozniacki reached the final of the WTA clay court tournament Saturday with a win of 6-4, 6-4 victory over Jelena Jankovic.

Wozniacki Jankovic survived the favorite in a match marked by rallies and rectification in the first set, serving many breaks.

Finally, "said Jankovic, Wozniacki ability to extend the rally was simply too much.

"She always makes you play an extra ball,"the third-seeded Serb said.

Wozniacki booked a clash with Russian Elena Vesnina, who beat Shuai Peng of China 7-6 (7 / 4), 6-3.

Wozniacki reached the final of Charleston for the second time in three appearances.

She was runner-up here to Sabine Lisicki in 2009, but last year was driven into the semifinals with an ankle injury.

"I'm just happy to be in the final again,"she said. "It was a great week for me."
