NATO considers joining Libya strikes
BRUSSELS: NATO's highest decision making body is to decide whether the alliance will join the strike on Libya.
According to diplomats, military planners in NATO must submit final plans to the Council of the North Atlantic on Sunday. The body must then decide whether the alliance will join the coalition operation or simply provide logistical, intelligence and support from other nations participating in the intervention.
Several NATO governments said they would not participate in aerial attacks, saying the alliance is already heavily engaged in the war in Afghanistan.
