Randy Newman Wins Original Song Oscar
Randy Newman does not expect to win the Oscar for best song on the "83rd Annual Academy Awards (Sunday, 8:30 pm, ABC)." My interest is not great, "he said." I was nominated 20 times, and this is the second time I won. "
That victory came in 2002 for the movie "Monsters Inc.", while it was yet another collaboration Pixar: "." Toy Story 3 'He sang the song "We Belong Together" earlier in the show, and said that this indicates his desire to be "good television."
Unfortunately, he advised the academy, "it's not a very good television, to take the list from his pocket, and to thank many people."
In defense of Newman, he did not pull list, but he produces from his mind a list of people to thank. "I just want to thank these people," he said. "I do not want. I want to be good television so bad."
We believe that, otherwise, the proposal of the Academy of Sciences, Newman was a really good television
Randall Stuart Randy Newman (born November 28, 1943) American singer and songwriter, arranger, composer and pianist who is known for his mordant (and often satirical) pop songs and movies.
Newman often writes songs from the perspective of the character far from his own experience of Newman. For example, the 1972 song "Sail Away" is written as a slave trader's sales pitch to attract slaves, while the narrator, "Politics" is a U.S. nationalist who complains of worldwide ingratitude toward America and offers a brutally ironic final solution. One of his biggest hits, "Short People" was written from the perspective of "crazy" who hates short people. Since 1980, Newman has worked mostly as a film composer. His films include Ragtime, The Awakening, natural, Leatherheads, James and the Giant Peach, Meet the Parents, Favorite and The Princess and the Frog. He scored six Disney-Pixar films: Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Cars and most recently, "Toy Story 3.
He was awarded two Oscars, three Emmys, five Grammy Awards, and awards of the Governor of the Recording Academy. Newman was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2007, Newman was inducted as a Disney Legend. In 2011, Newman received an Oscar for best song for "Toy Story 3's" We Belong Together ", which was also his 11 th nomination for Best Song.
