YOOKA-LAYLEE PLAYABLE DEMO COMING TO BACKERS IN JULY

Those who backed Yooka-Laylee can expect a playable slice of the game soon.

Developer Playtonic Games has announced a demo of sorts in the form of "The Toybox." The experience is described as "a self-contained, spoiler-free sandbox" meant to give players a look at the game to come.

It will only be available to those Kickstarter backers that paid into the Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor at a high enough level. Those that did can expect this slice of Yooka-Laylee sometime in July.

Besides the demo Playtonic also revealed a few details about the game's setting and plot. The full breakdown can be found on the company's website, but the major reveal is the game's antagonist.

"Capital B" is a corporate bigwig, and — appropriately enough — a bee. His goals include a "devious scheme to absorb all of the world’s literature…" While as Yooka and Laylee players are tasked with stopping him.

The blog post also confirms that we'll be seeing more of Yooka-Laylee in a few weeks at E3 2016. For a full list of games at the show, check out our Games of E3 List.
