Tennis queen Sania Mirza dazzles the ramp
NEW DELHI: Indian tennis queen, Sania Mirza, walked the ramp for designer Ritu Pande's latest collection 'Lady in Lace' on the third day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) in New Delhi.
Sania wore an attractive minimal gold and white maxi dress with delicate embroidery and with her hair down and loosely curled on one side she mesmerized the audience with her sheer grace.
"It was really good, it was lots of fun. For the first time I am not walking for Shantanu and Nikhil. Oh no, I have walked at a charity before but first designer, I am not walking for Shantanu and Nikhil, it is Ritu. I was glad it was Ritu because her collection was really beautiful," said Mirza.
Pande's collection 'Lady in Lace' is about details of embroidery supported with lace to bring a sense of sophistication. Her collection is inspired by the layered nuances and hidden beauty of quintessential Victorian era.
"Mixing the elements like tie and dye, the lace, I have made the grandest outfit," said Pandey.
Wills India Fashion Week is hosted by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). The five- day fashion and trade occasion is set to be actively occupied by top fashion industry personnel with over 120 stall exhibitors and 30 shows. – Reuters
