WATCH: Rihanna’s “Man Down” Video Violence Sparks New Controversy
Rihanna does not have many fans on the Parents Television Council.
The group, which has not had nice things to say about his performance at the recent Billboard Music Awards, is not happy with superstar new video for "Man Down."
Specifically, the PTC Condemns intense representation of video violence.
In its opening scene, Rihanna shoots man means being a rapist.
"Instead of saying [rape] victims they should seek help, Rihanna has released a music video that gives retaliation in the form of premeditated murder the imprimatur of acceptability," said Melissa Gross official Henson.
The video, which premiered on BET last night, drew fire from other critics.
"If Chris Brown shot a woman in her new video and BET's first, the world would stop," said Paul Porter, co-founder of Industry Ears media think tank.
"Rihanna should not get a pass and BET should know better. The videos are not worthy of dissemination."
