Leopard visits Hema Malini's bungalow

Hema Malini had a strange fan early Friday when a leopard strayed into his bungalow in the north-west Mumbai Dindoshi, creating panic among local residents, an official said. The leopard, believed to be from the nearby Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) region, was spotted by a security guard at the premises early on Friday.

it was not Bollywood actor at home at the time of the incident.

Residents alerted authorities SGNP which sent a team equipped with tranquilizers and a cage to capture the wild cat large, the official said.

"We sent a team of forest workers on the site and they are making arrangements to catch the leopard. We hope to capture it quickly," SA Thorat, SGNP Chief Conservator of Forests told IANS.

The SGNP, spread over about 100 square kilometers in northwest Mumbai, has more than five dozen leopards and many other wild animals living in its dense forests.

Leopards often stray into the sprawling housing complex, city of film, Aarey Milk Colony, Dahisar, Borivli, Kandivli, Malad, Goregaon and other western suburbs and Mulund and Bhandup on the east side.

There have been many cases of leopards being killed while chasing prey by speeding vehicles on the Western Express Highway and Eastern Express.
