Huge pileup on foggy UAE highway; dozens injured

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates: the police, at least 50 vehicles were involved in a chain reaction accident in dense fog on the main road between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, leaving dozens injured.

Saturday pileup extended over 500 yards (meters), including cars, buses and vans. Some local media reports say two people were killed, but police reports did not immediately speak of the dead.

The busy road between the UAE's two main cities has been closed for hours.

In March 2008, three people were killed and 300 wounded in a similar fog shrouded pileup on the same stretch of highway. - (AP)
