Suicide attack on police kills nine in Afghanistan
A suicide car bomb attack at a police headquarters in Afghanistan Nine people including a policeman were killed and 40 others were wounded Friday, officials said.
The incident in the eastern city of Khost is the up-to-the-minute to target Afghan police who, alongside the country's army, are due to take control of security from international crowd by 2014. The head of the local public health office Amir Badsha Mangal supposed that nine people were dead and 40 people had been injured, four of whom were in a serious condition. Local police chief Abdul Hakim Eshaqzai told that women and children were along with the dead. Hospitals in the city have been "overwhelmed" by the arrival of wounded people, he added, warning: "The casualty toll will possibly increase."
