MUMBAI: Bombay High Court long-established death sentence for Ajmal Kasab, the gunman wedged alive during the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai, India.

Kasab was verdict to death last year for the attack in which 166 people were killed.

Legal process needs the High Court to approve a death sentence given by a lower court. But in addition to signing off on the earlier decision, the Bombay High Court also measured - and dismissed Monday - Kasab's appeal against his death sentence.

Last year, the trial court finds not guilty two Indians - Faheem Ansari, Sabahuddin Shaikh - who were blame of helping the attackers to plan their attack. The state government had appealed against their discharge, but the High Court upheld the trial court's decision.

Kasab was not allowable to attend court hearings in the Bombay High Court for security cause He is kept in a special bomb-proof and bullet-proof cell at Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail.
