Kasab to file appeal in SC

Ajmal Kasab will appeal to the Supreme Court to challenge the decision of the Bombay High Court confirming the death penalty awarded to him for his role in the attacks on Mumbai 26/11, his lawyer Farhana Shah said on Wednesday. Kasab told his lawyer, who met with him in prison this afternoon that he would move an appeal in apex court. Ms. Shah said Indian news agency that she reported that Kasab High Court in its decision, upheld the guilty verdict the trial court awarding him the death penalty. Nevertheless, Ms. Shah said that she did not give details about the verdict of the Supreme Court upholding trial court's decision, but told him that he has the right to challenge the order of the Supreme Court. She reported Kasab that he would soon receive a copy of the court decision of the High Court.
