The public release of Mac OS X Lion is imminent, possibly coming as soon as July 14 as the 9to5Mac well come. This news comes right after Apple released the Lion's GM building for developers to download via the Centre for Dev.
GM today releasing the building to give time for any potential bug reports coming in on weekends for Apple engineers to meet next week, suggesting that the final version could be next week, but more likely next week.
Looking at the past, we can obtain another indication of the potential release schedule based on built before the Golden Master. A former Apple employee said @ iDannyOcean the Mac OS X Snow Leopard version was released just over two weeks before the official launch, and suggested that July 19 would be a "good bet" for a launch date.
