KABUL: A suicide bomber wearing an Afghan security forces uniform blew himself up Saturday at the entrance to a military base in eastern Afghanistan, a defense official said.
The number of victims is not yet known, said the spokesman of the Afghan Ministry of Defense Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi.
Azimi said a man on foot carrying a jacket packed with explosives blew himself up at about 7:30 local time Saturday at the entrance to the west base of Jalalabad, which is shared by Afghan forces and coalition .
"The perpetrator had the uniform of Afghan security and strength that allowed him to reach the entrance to the base and carry out the attack, " said Azimi.
NATO has not yet disclosed information on the attack in the district of Laghman province Qarghayi.
