Pakistan vs West Indies quarter final cricket world cup

DHAKA: Pakistan has rejected the West Indies for 112 runs in the first quarterfinal of the 2011 World Cup here at the Stade Sher-e-Bangla National Mirpur on Wednesday.
After Captain Darren Sammy won the toss for the first time in the tournament, and decided to bat first, West Indies could not resist the Pakistan spin attack, led by Shahid Afridi and were all in 43.3 overs, Pakistan giving easy target of 113.
Leg-spinner Afridi, already leading the tournament wicket-taker, took his tally to 21 as he finished with four for 30, including two wickets off successive balls.
Off-spinner Mohammad Hafeez Saeed Ajmal and claimed two wickets each for 16 and 18, respectively, while Umar Gul Pacers and Abdul Razzaq took a wicket each.
Veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul, brought to the team after a fall in the previous match against India was the only drummer to defy the spinners with a dour unbeaten 44 106 balls off.
Except Chanderpaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan (24) and Kemar Roach (16), no West Indian drummer could get double-digit
The West Indies were reduced to 71-8 before a stand of 40 between Chanderpaul term and Roach, who helped former champions overcome their lowest World Cup total of 93 against Kenya in Pune in 1996.
The West Indies never recovered from the disastrous start when they lost three top batsmen, Chris Gayle, Devon Smith and Darren Bravo, the sixth most.
Gayle, returning to the side after recovering from an abdominal injury, is eight years old when he drove Umar Gul to mid-off where Afridi has accepted the catch.
Hafeez, who shared the new ball with Gul trapped Smith leg before and Bravo in the space of four deliveries to open the control means.
Shell-shocked by the early setback, the West Indies looked to 36-3 after 15 overs, with only three runs to Chanderpaul his first 27 deliveries.
Ramnaresh Sarwan and Chanderpaul put on 42 for the fourth wicket before Afridi destroys innings with three wickets in 11 balls.
Sarwan, dropped by Gul to mid-off when he was 14, added over 10 to his score before Afridi gained revenge by having caught at point by Umar Akmal.
The Pakistan captain then removed dangerman potential Kieron Pollard (one) caught behind by wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal, and Devon Thomas said leg before first ball.
Darren Sammy prevented a hat-trick, but the West Indian skipper lasted just three deliveries before he was leg before Ajmal.
Ajmal also revolutionized new drummer Davendra Bishoo later in the same hand to continue the drag West Indies.
The winners of this relationship will face India and Australia in the semi-finals.
