A police spokesman said six people were killed in northeastern Poland after the van they were driving crossed into oncoming traffic and was hit by a truck. Bialystok police spokesman Andrzej Baranowski said Thursday that the van could hit a slippery section of road he was traveling between the cities and Zambrow Wysokie Mazowieckie. He said that both vehicles rolled into a ditch on impact, and all six passengers van, was killed on the spot. The truck driver suffered a hand injury.
